Deer Falls
$90.00
"Deer Falls" is an 11"x14" original acrylic painting on canvas panel that captures a brief, hushed pause in the wild-a deer standing near a waterfall, alert yet calm, as water tumbles past. I wanted to blend the energy of moving water with the stillness of a watching animal.
In the background, cool blues and whites carve out the falling water, with textured brushstrokes suggesting spray and foam at the base of the falls. The surrounding forest leans into rich greens and deep browns, framing the scene and guiding your eye to the deer along the river's edge. I placed the animal slightly off-center so it feels discovered rather than staged, the way wildlife appears when you're lucky enough to spot it on a hike.
Up close, you can see the layered strokes in the rocks, the feathery touches in the foliage, and the careful highlights on the deer's back and face. From a distance, the painting reads as a cohesive wildlife riverscape; as you approach, more small details reveal themselves.
"Deer Falls" works beautifully as nature-inspired wall art in a living room, office, or cabin-style space, especially if you enjoy scenes that include both animals and water. The 11"x14" size makes it simple to frame, and it pairs nicely with other forest or river pieces for a small gallery of outdoor memories.
This piece is a single, hand-painted original, so no one else will have this exact combination of waterfall and wildlife. If you're drawn to the idea of animals along the river-whether deer, elk, or another favorite-I can also create a custom riverscape in a similar spirit.
